Make it a date this Mother’s Day
Motherhood is no easy feat and is truly worthy of celebration. Just in case you’re still wondering, this year’s Mother’s Day falls on 12th of May.
Here are some ideas to make the most out of the day.
Enjoy high tea
This Sunday, William Mordido aka Buko be hosting a Mother’s Day High Tea at the beautiful Alberton Heritage House. There will be a delicious selection of English sweet and savoury options accompanied by Noble & Savage tea, and a sparkling Rose on arrival. Tour the history of luxurious heritage house and finish the day with gifts.
I always look forward to Buko’s pop-ups ever since experiencing their Dessert Degustation at Cafe Holm in 2017 (wait, that was two years ago?).
Or a long lunch
Treat her to a long lunch at the inner city’s best kept secret Culprit—her first glass of champagne in on the house. There’s also a seafood-laden Kaimoana menu to satisfy seafood lovers.
If you’d like to get out town, Bracu is hosting a four-lunch course dedicated to celebrate mums—the menu is seafood-laden as well!
Indulge in a spa treatment
In an online survey conducted by The Hits last year, Kiwi mums revealed what they wanted the most out of Mother’s Day. “To be wholly pampered” topped off the list.
Indulge her to some well-deserved R&R with a 90-minute Signature Massage at Spring Spa or up the ante with East Day’s Spa’s Yatra Package including a 15-minute foot soak, 60-minute Signature Massage and 60-minute CODAGE Facial. That already sounds divine! Better yet, book an appointment for the two of you.
Prettify the home
Pay mum a visit. Flowers make a pretty scene, but make it more worth her while with something longer lasting—a beautiful houseplant. These botanical babies will do wonders for her home—the beautify, help clean the air, amongst many other benefits. A potted monstera will look amazing, if she doesn’t already have one.
Make her wishes come true
You know your mum the best, so be a genie this Sunday and make her smile—whether it’s a giving her a day off from housework (by providing a professional house clean, maybe?), surprising her with a breakfast in bed, helping her tick something off of her list, or giving her what she’s always wanted.
The most important thing
All of these are icing on the cake. Spending time with your loved ones is gift enough. Happy Mother’s Day!
