It’s starting to feel like summer and I couldn’t be happier
On the way back, we had a quick layover in Sydney—enough time to visit museums and stroll along the Royal Botanic Gardens. We had a nap there too as we got there very early in the morning. One of the birds stole my banana bread while we were napping—and it wasn’t a normal looking bird, it was bigger than usual birds you’d find in a park. It was a really good banana bread so I was sad but it was funny at the same time. When the bird realised it woke us up, it grabbed the whole paper bag by its beak and ran.
Coming back to Auckland, we visited The Living Gallery, an avant-garde pop-up created by Bombay Sapphire in celebration of the art of mixology. It was such a magical experience and I am already looking forward to what they have in store for next year. There were some amazing cocktails.
It’s been six weeks that I was away from Auckland and I’m excited about the new developments in town. Tsujiri finally opened in Lorne Street—I have been keeping an eye since I saw the signboards up and have been patiently waiting. I have been going there nearly everyday since. There’s no other way to describe it—it is Matcha Heaven. Krispy Kreme also set up a really cool space in Chancery Square. Those original glazed donuts are so tempting. I’m convinced I’ll keep living in the CBD for now.
